TTSPORT Big Brake Kit Backs 8th-Place Finish at China Top Rally
A TTSPORT-equipped rally car finished 8th overall at the 2024 China Top Rally, one of Asia's longest and toughest off-road events, running a full liquid-cooled TTSPORT SUPER COOLER brake system across 4,377.5 km of desert terrain.
Racing Around the Taklamakan
The China Top Rally is billed as Asia's largest and longest off-road rally, and one of its hardest. The route runs through Xinjiang's "three mountains, two basins" terrain, circling the Taklamakan — known locally as the "Sea of Death" — for a total distance of 4,377.5 km. Fifty teams from China and abroad entered this year's edition.
TTSPORT's partner team ran a single car this event: driver Huang Weizhi, a registered instructor with the China Automobile and Motorcycle Federation, with Fu Qiang navigating. Fielding just one car meant a cautious, measured pace through a field packed with world-class off-road entries. It's a crowded grid at this level, and a domestic-brand team isn't guaranteed anything.
8th Overall Against Stiff Competition
Even against the caliber of machinery now showing up at Chinese off-road events, the TTSPORT-backed car ran competitively all week and crossed the line 8th overall — a solid result for a team running solo against a deep international field.
An event like this puts a brake system through everything at once — washboard sand, rock, punishing heat, and stage after stage with almost no recovery time. A caliper that can't handle sustained heat load or a pad that fades halfway through a stage costs a team time it can't get back. That's exactly the environment TTSPORT built its rally hardware for.
Why the Brakes Mattered
Guangzhou Minzhong Auto Technology, TTSPORT's parent company, has spent more than 20 years focused specifically on braking systems. For this rally, the team ran the TTSPORT SUPER COOLER liquid-cooling circulation brake system — liquid-cooled calipers, racing rotors, M-05+ racing pads, and racing brake fluid working together as one package. Unlike a standard caliper, the SUPER COOLER's internal oil circuit gives it a self-contained liquid cooling loop, which is what lets it shrug off the kind of sustained, repeated heavy braking a desert rally throws at it without the pedal going soft.

The SUPER COOLER setup is built around a simple idea: keep the fluid and pad temperature stable even when the terrain gives the driver no chance to let the brakes cool down between corners. That consistency is what shows up as steady pedal feel and predictable stopping distance stage after stage, not just on the first lap of a fresh test.
Real-Time Feedback and What's Next
TTSPORT stayed in close contact with the team through the event, pulling brake data after each stage. The driver's feedback was consistently positive — the brakes held up to the intensity of the rally without complaint, which matters more here than in almost any other form of racing given how long each stage runs and how little downtime there is between them.
Going forward, TTSPORT plans to keep putting its Chinese-made brake hardware into more races at home and abroad, using every event to show what the brand's braking technology can do. Just as important, the data and lessons pulled from rallies like this one feed straight back into TTSPORT's street product development, so everyday drivers benefit from what gets learned out in the desert.
