TTSPORT & YiTRON Sweep CTCC TC1 Class in Debut Round

by LinLynn 16 Jul 2026

TTSPORT & YiTRON Racing Team drivers Sun Zheng and Wang Wenbin walked into their first-ever CTCC round and left with a clean sweep: TC1 class driver and team titles on Saturday, then the same double on a rain-soaked Sunday. Four championships, two days, one Honda Civic race car running TTSPORT competition calipers.

First CTCC Round, Instant Impact

China Touring Car Championship is the top tier of circuit racing in the country, and it doesn't leave much room for teams to feel their way in. TTSPORT & YiTRON Racing Team showed up for its first full CTCC season with a purpose-built Honda Civic race car and two drivers who know how to close out a weekend.

The Lineup

  • Race car: a Honda Civic built and set up by TTSPORT & YiTRON Racing Team to a track-level spec
  • Drivers: Sun Zheng and Wang Wenbin, splitting seat time across the two-day round
  • Crew: the team's technical staff running full-time trackside support to keep the car race-ready

Day One: Front Row Lockout, Then a Race Win

Qualifying on the morning of April 26 set the tone. Sun Zheng put down a 2:17.059 and Wang Wenbin followed with a 2:18.599, locking out the top two starting spots in TC1 class before the race even started.

The afternoon race ran 55 minutes plus a lap — long enough to punish any car or driver that can't hold a consistent pace. Both drivers managed their overtakes and defended their positions cleanly, closing it out with:

  • TC1 class driver champion
  • TC1 class team champion

Day Two: Wet Track, Same Result

The weather turned overnight and rain hit the circuit before Sunday's session, adding a real variable to the round. A wet track changes everything — grip drops, braking distances stretch, and small mistakes get punished fast.

Sun Zheng and Wang Wenbin adjusted their lines and braking points for the conditions and repeated Saturday's result almost exactly, taking the TC1 driver and team titles again in the wet.

The Braking Story: TTSPORT Calipers Under Pressure

The Civic ran TTSPORT competition-grade calipers all weekend, and the result on track came down to a fairly simple mechanism: every time a driver stands on the brake pedal at 150+ mph closing speed, the caliper has to clamp the rotor with consistent, predictable force, lap after lap, as the whole system heats up. If the caliper flexes under load or the fluid boils from heat soak, the pedal goes long and the driver loses confidence right at the point where they need it most — the threshold of braking.

Threshold braking

A rigid caliper body kept the brake point consistent corner after corner, letting drivers brake later without guessing.

Thermal stability

Across a 55-minute-plus-one-lap race, pedal feel and stopping power stayed steady instead of fading as the brakes got hot.

Wet-track feedback

Clear pedal feedback on the rain-soaked Day Two track helped drivers modulate braking force instead of locking up.

The two-day sweep wasn't just a win for the driver lineup — it's a proof point for what TTSPORT's competition brake hardware is built to do under real race load.
