Li Auto L8 Big Brake Kit Upgrade / TTSPORT Evolution EB8/EP4

by LinLynn 16 Jul 2026

The Li Auto L8 is built to haul a full family in comfort, and it does that job well. But that same comfort-tuned suspension and factory brake package starts to show its limits once the cabin is loaded up, the road turns to mountain switchbacks, or a long highway trip calls for repeated hard stops. One L8 owner ran into exactly that — plenty of comfort, not enough brake — and addressed it with a TTSPORT front 8-piston / rear 4-piston big brake kit.

A vehicle this size and weight, loaded with passengers and cargo, puts real demand on a brake system that was tuned primarily for ride comfort. Fade and a soft pedal show up first on long descents or repeated stops — the exact scenario a family hauler faces on road trips.

Vehicle & Kit Specs

The owner went with a matched front-and-rear TTSPORT Evolution Series setup, kept the factory 21-inch wheels, and used a vehicle-specific bracket rather than any generic adapter.

Why It Works

TTSPORT EB8 forged eight-piston front caliper installed on Li Auto L8

The EB8 up front is a two-piece forged caliper with eight pistons arranged symmetrically across four pad contact points. That layout spreads clamping force evenly over the pad surface, so initial bite is progressive rather than grabby, and pedal effort stays linear as you push harder into the stop — instead of the caliper flexing and the pedal going soft, the way a stock single-piston sliding caliper can under sustained load.

The 405mm front and 380mm rear rotors add rotational mass and swept area over the factory discs, giving the system more thermal capacity to absorb heat before it fades — the difference that matters most on long descents with a fully loaded cabin.

  • Two-piece heat-insulated pistons on both EB8 and EP4 calipers limit heat transfer into the brake fluid, keeping pedal feel consistent as temperatures rise.
  • The rear EP4 keeps the electronic parking brake fully functional — its single-piston EPB section is built into the same caliper body as the four-piston service brake, so there's no separate parking-brake mechanism to package around.
  • A vehicle-specific bracket locates each caliper for the L8's factory 21-inch wheels, matched to the recommended 19-inch-or-larger wheel fitment for the EB8 caliper.

Installation Gallery

What wheel size does this Li Auto L8 big brake kit fit under?
This install used the L8's factory 21-inch wheels. TTSPORT paired the front EB8 caliper with a 405mm rotor and the rear EP4 caliper with a 380mm rotor, sized to clear that wheel.
Does the rear TTSPORT caliper on this kit still work with the electronic parking brake?
Yes. The rear TTSPORT EP4 is an electromechanical caliper: a four-piston section handles normal braking while a separate single-piston section built into the same caliper operates the electronic parking brake.
What's different between the front EB8 caliper and the rear EP4 caliper in this kit?
The front EB8 is an eight-piston forged caliper for service braking with a 405mm rotor. The rear EP4 is a four-piston caliper with an integrated electronic parking brake piston and a 380mm rotor, matched to the front for balanced front-to-rear braking.
