Both calipers are two-piece forged aluminum bodies rather than cast-iron sliding units. A forged fixed caliper doesn't flex under clamping load the way a stock sliding caliper can, so pedal input translates more directly into clamping force instead of getting absorbed by the caliper body — the reason drivers describe the pedal as firmer and more linear.
