TTSPORT Off-Road Big Brake Kit: Six-Piston 505-1 Caliper

TTSPORT has added a new off-road-specific big brake kit to its lineup — the Direct-Mount 505-1 — built around a six-piston caliper with fully internal oil passages instead of exposed crossover tubes. It's aimed at trucks and SUVs that regularly haul loads over a ton, where stock brake lines and fittings sit exposed to rocks, ruts, and mud.

A Kit Built Around a Trail Problem

Most big brake kits are designed with pavement in mind — track days, autocross, canyon runs. The 505-1 starts from a different brief: keep working after the truck's already loaded down with a bumper, armor, a winch, and a full overland kit, and keep working after the brakes take a hit from a rock or a rut.

TTSPORT cast the caliper's fluid routing into the body itself. Instead of an external crossover tube bridging the two halves of the caliper — a part that sits right in the line of fire on a lifted truck's front end — the oil path runs through internal passages. There's just less exposed hardware for a rock strike or a stray branch to catch.

Why the Braking Hardware Matters Off-Road

The physics don't change just because the surface underfoot does. A heavier vehicle carrying more gear needs more clamping force to stop in the same distance, and that force still has to travel through a rigid caliper body and a fluid path that survives the drive. TTSPORT sized the 505-1 for exactly that: a six-piston caliper spreads clamping load across more pad area, so pedal feel stays consistent even when the rig is loaded well past its curb weight.

The internal oil path solves a second problem extra pistons can't fix on their own: reliability. An external crossover tube that gets dented or cracked on the trail turns into a fluid leak, and a leak on one caliper drops pressure across the whole hydraulic circuit. Routing the fluid inside the casting removes that failure point from the part of the truck most likely to take a hit.

This kit isn't tied to one specific model, so TTSPORT sized the platform around a use case rather than a single fitment sheet: off-road trucks and SUVs built to carry loads over 1 ton, roughly 2,200 lbs and up once bumpers, armor, fuel, water, and gear are all on board.
