Zeekr 009 Big Brake Kit Upgrade / TTSPORT Mono EMB6

by LinLynn 16 Jul 2026

The Zeekr 009 is a big, heavy EV MPV, and that extra battery weight puts real strain on the factory brakes during repeated high-speed stops. One owner decided the stock setup wasn't keeping up and moved to a TTSPORT EMB6 forged six-piston caliper up front, paired with a 380mm carbon-ceramic rotor on each axle. Here's what went into the build.

A heavier vehicle needs more braking capacity to shed the same speed in the same distance. Swapping in a larger, rigid caliper and a rotor with more thermal mass is the straightforward fix — more clamping force, more heat capacity, less fade over repeated stops.

TTSPORT EMB6 caliper kit contents including bracket, pads, and stainless brake lines for the Zeekr 009

Every kit ships with the vehicle-specific bracket, pads, and stainless lines needed to bolt the EMB6 into place — no adapting or fabricating required on install day.

Why It Works

  • Monoblock forged aluminum construction gives the caliper body more rigidity than a two-piece bolted design, so clamping force goes into the pads instead of flexing the housing.
  • Six pistons spread clamping force more evenly across the pad surface than a stock two- or four-piston caliper, which helps even pad wear and modulation.
  • Two-piece heat-insulated pistons keep heat from the pads out of the brake fluid, which helps preserve a firm, consistent pedal on repeated high-speed stops.
  • The 380mm carbon-ceramic rotors add thermal mass on both axles, which matters on a heavy EV where the battery pack adds weight the brakes have to manage on every stop.
  • A carbon-ceramic rotor also runs noticeably lighter than a same-size iron disc, cutting unsprung and rotating mass at each corner.

The lightweight, cutout-heavy caliper body isn't just for looks — the open sections help air move across the caliper and pads, which slows heat buildup during hard or repeated braking.

FAQ

What does the TTSPORT kit on this Zeekr 009 include?
The front axle gets a TTSPORT EMB6 forged six-piston caliper paired with a 380mm carbon-ceramic rotor, while the rear runs an oversized 380mm carbon-ceramic rotor. The kit also includes a custom vehicle-specific caliper bracket, high-performance ceramic brake pads, TTSPORT stainless steel brake lines, brake fluid, and mounting hardware.
Is the TTSPORT EMB6 caliper forged?
Yes. The EMB6 uses a monoblock forged aluminum body, which the manufacturer builds as a single piece rather than bolting two caliper halves together, for added structural rigidity.
What wheel size does the EMB6 caliper recommend?
Per the TTSPORT EMB6 spec sheet, the caliper is recommended for wheels 18 inches or larger, with a minimum spoke clearance of 101mm, and is designed for rotors in the Ø355-405mm x 32-34mm range.
How many pistons does the EMB6 caliper use?
The EMB6 is a six-piston design using two-piece, heat-insulated pistons without dust boots, with piston diameters of 30mm x 2, 34mm x 2, and 38mm x 2, for a combined piston area of 55.0 cm² per caliper.
