Mercedes-Benz Vito Big Brake Kit Upgrade / TTSPORT Evolution Series ES6

by LinLynn 16 Jul 2026
Mercedes-Benz Vito fitted with TTSPORT Evolution Series ES6 six-piston front big brake kit

A Mercedes-Benz Vito running shuttle or cargo duty spends a lot of time fully loaded, and that extra weight lands squarely on the brakes every time the vehicle slows down. The factory calipers and rotors weren't sized with that repeated load-and-stop cycle in mind, so this build swaps in a TTSPORT front-and-rear package built around the Evolution Series ES6 six-piston front caliper and the EP4 electromechanical four-piston rear caliper, both paired with 355 mm carbon-ceramic rotors and running behind the Vito's factory 18-inch wheels.

Vehicle & Kit Specs

Item Specification
Vehicle Mercedes-Benz Vito, 18-inch wheels
Front caliper TTSPORT Evolution Series ES6, two-piece forged aluminum, six-piston fixed caliper
Front rotor 355 x 32 mm carbon-ceramic rotor
Rear caliper TTSPORT EP4 electromechanical four-piston caliper with integrated electronic parking brake
Rear rotor 355 mm carbon-ceramic rotor
Pads / hardware Performance ceramic pads matched to the carbon-ceramic rotors, plus mounting bolts and fixing hardware

The front axle carries the ES6 caliper, and its full factory spec sheet is below.

Caliper Mounting Type Radial mount with vehicle-specific caliper brackets
Brake Line Fitting Type Vehicle-specific fittings; caliper-side and chassis-side fittings vary by application
18-inch wheels alone don't guarantee clearance. The ES6 needs at least 99 mm of spoke clearance, and wheel barrel shape, offset, and rear-caliper envelope still need to be checked against the specific Vito wheel before ordering.

Why It Works

TTSPORT EP4 four-piston rear caliper with integrated electronic parking brake on a Mercedes-Benz Vito

A loaded Vito puts most of its braking demand on the front axle, which is why the ES6's staggered 27/32/38 mm pistons matter: the three sizes control how clamp load builds across the leading and trailing edges of the pad, instead of dumping all the pressure at one point. The two-piece forged aluminum caliper body flexes less than a stamped or thinner-wall housing under that same hydraulic load, so more of the pedal's pressure goes into clamping force instead of stretching the caliper.

Rear duty falls to the EP4, a four-piston electromechanical caliper that keeps the electronic parking brake built into the same unit rather than adding a separate parking-brake mechanism. Front and rear both run 355 mm carbon-ceramic rotors, which hold heat better and weigh less than a same-sized iron rotor — useful on a vehicle that's braking with real payload behind it, over and over, on a shuttle or delivery run.

  • More thermal capacity front and rear for repeated stops under load
  • Firmer, more direct pedal feedback from the forged ES6 caliper body
  • More even front pad loading from the staggered piston sizing
  • Reduced rotating and unsprung mass versus similarly sized iron rotors
  • Electronic parking brake function retained through the EP4's integrated actuator
  • Fits behind the Vito's factory 18-inch wheels once the 99 mm spoke clearance is confirmed

Fitment & Ownership FAQ

Does this TTSPORT brake kit fit every Mercedes-Benz Vito?
No. Fitment depends on the exact model year, chassis, axle configuration, factory brake package, and wheel geometry. Confirm the complete vehicle specification before ordering.
Will any 18-inch wheel clear the ES6 brake kit?
No. The ES6 is specified for 18-inch wheels or larger and requires at least 99 mm of spoke clearance, but wheel offset, barrel shape, and rear-caliper clearance must also be checked.
How is the electronic parking brake retained at the rear?
This build uses a TTSPORT EP4 electromechanical four-piston rear caliper with the electronic parking-brake actuator integrated into the same caliper.
Can standard iron-rotor brake pads be used with these carbon-ceramic rotors?
No. Carbon-ceramic rotors require a compatible friction compound. Use the pads matched to the supplied rotor material and do not interchange them with iron-rotor pad compounds.
What should be checked after the brake kit is installed?
Verify fastener torque, rotor alignment, brake-line routing, fluid bleeding, pedal feel, wheel clearance, and electronic parking-brake operation, then complete the specified bedding procedure.

Running a loaded Vito on a route that beats up your brakes? Confirm your wheel size and axle spec, then step up to the ES6/EP4 carbon-ceramic package.
