Mazda 3 (Axela) Big Brake Kit Upgrade / TTSPORT Classic 7600

by LinLynn 16 Jul 2026

The Mazda 3 Axela is built on Mazda's Skyactiv platform and it's tuned to reward a driver who likes to turn in hard — but the brake pedal it ships with doesn't quite match that intent. Like a lot of Skyactiv-chassis cars, it trades some pedal firmness and outright clamping force for a quiet, comfortable daily-driver feel. This owner wanted the handling back without giving up the factory 16-inch wheels, so the fix was a TTSPORT TT7600 four-piston big brake kit sized specifically to fit behind them.

The car keeps its stock 16-inch wheels — no spacers, no wheel swap. The bracket and rotor diameter were worked out from the Axela's own spindle geometry rather than borrowed from another platform, which is what makes that kind of fitment possible in the first place.

Vehicle & Kit Specs

Item Specification
Vehicle Mazda 3 (Axela), 16-inch OEM wheels
Front caliper TTSPORT TT7600 four-piston fixed caliper
Front rotor TTSPORT 295 x 24.5mm curved (slotted) rotor
Bracket Vehicle-specific caliper bracket matched to the Axela's factory spindle (knuckle) data
Lines TTSPORT stainless steel brake lines

Why It Works

  • A four-piston fixed caliper clamps the rotor from both sides with a rigid body that doesn't flex under load the way a single-piston sliding caliper can, so pedal input translates more directly into clamping force instead of getting absorbed by caliper flex.
  • Stepping up to a 295x24.5mm rotor adds swept area and thermal mass over the stock disc, which means more heat capacity before the system starts to fade on a hard back-to-back run.
  • The bracket is dimensioned off the Axela's own spindle data, so the kit sits behind the factory 16-inch wheel without needing a spacer or a different wheel offset.
  • Stainless steel lines replace the factory rubber hoses, cutting down on the hose expansion that can soften pedal feel under hard braking.

With the TT7600 caliper and 295x24.5mm rotor installed, the setup fills out the Axela's 16-inch wheel visibly more than the factory brakes did — a common side effect of moving to a properly sized big brake kit on a compact wheel.

Does the TT7600 kit fit behind the Mazda 3 Axela's stock 16-inch wheels?
Yes. This build kept the factory 16-inch wheels, and the TT7600 caliper and 295x24.5mm rotor were sized to clear them with a custom bracket matched to the OEM spindle data.
What's included in the TT7600 upgrade used on this Axela?
The kit installed here consists of the TTSPORT TT7600 four-piston fixed caliper, a 295x24.5mm curved rotor, a vehicle-specific caliper bracket, and TTSPORT stainless steel brake lines.
