Honda Fit/Jazz (GE8) Big Brake Kit Upgrade / TTSPORT Classic 7609

by LinLynn 16 Jul 2026

Second-generation Honda Fit (GE8) tends to live in the shadow of the GK5 when it comes to modding, but this 1.5L GE8 owner wasn't settling for the stock single-piston front brakes. The car had developed a familiar complaint: shudder under hard braking at highway speed and a warped-feeling rotor. The fix was a switch to a TTSPORT four-piston caliper and a larger two-piece rotor up front.

The build: TT7609 four-piston caliper, TT 285x24mm slotted two-piece rotor, and TTSPORT stainless brake lines on the front axle. Honda's GE8 platform runs a modest 1.5L engine and a durable stock drivetrain, which made it a straightforward, cost-effective candidate for a brake upgrade rather than a full drivetrain build.

TT7609 forged split-cast four-piston caliper mounted on Honda Fit GE8 front hub

The TT7609 is a split-cast, opposed four-piston caliper suitable for front or rear application; here it went on the front. Moving from a single sliding piston to four opposed pistons gives the caliper more even pad contact and finer modulation — light pedal input won't lock the wheel instantly, and clamping force scales more predictably as pedal pressure increases. The caliper uses imported Japanese seals to keep maintenance intervals reasonable, and the caliper bridge hardware comes in a matching silver finish.

Vehicle & Kit Specs

Item Specification
Vehicle Honda Fit / Jazz, 2nd generation (GE8), 1.5L engine
Front caliper TTSPORT TT7609, split-cast forged, opposed four-piston, front/rear-capable design
Front rotor TTSPORT 285x24mm slotted, two-piece rotor
Brake lines TTSPORT stainless steel brake lines
Hardware Japanese-import caliper seals; silver-finish caliper bridge hardware; anti-corrosion rotor treatment

Why It Works

  • Four opposed pistons distribute clamping force more evenly across the pad than a single sliding piston, which improves pedal feel and lets the driver modulate braking force instead of getting an on/off response.
  • The 285x24mm rotor has more swept area and mass than the stock disc, which spreads brake heat over a larger surface and helps resist the warping that caused the original shudder.
  • The two-piece rotor design and anti-rust treatment are built for durability with normal maintenance, and the stainless lines resist the expansion that contributes to a spongy pedal over time.

What does the TTSPORT kit for the Honda Fit GE8 include?
The kit fitted to this GE8 includes the TT7609 forged, split-cast four-piston caliper, a 285x24mm slotted two-piece rotor, and TTSPORT stainless steel brake lines, installed on the front axle.
Did the upgrade solve the high-speed brake shudder and rotor warping?
Yes. According to the case, after installing the TTSPORT four-piston caliper and 285x24mm slotted rotor, the car no longer experienced the high-speed brake shudder and rotor warping that affected the stock setup.
Is the TT7609 caliper a front-only or front-and-rear application?
The TT7609 is a split-cast, opposed four-piston caliper designed for use on either the front or rear axle. In this build it was installed on the front wheels.
