This 2013 Mercedes-Benz E260L (W212), the pre-facelift 1.8T with 204 hp and a 7-speed dual-clutch, still runs its factory brakes after all these years — and like most stock setups on an aging luxury sedan, the pedal had gone soft and long-travel over time. The fix here wasn't a bigger engine or a new suspension; it was a full front-and-rear TTSPORT big brake kit built to bolt in behind the car's original 18-inch wheels.

The shop went with a matched four-wheel setup rather than a front-only kit: a TT8657 six-piston forged caliper up front and a TT8901 four-piston forged caliper in back, each running its own dedicated rotor. Stainless steel brake lines replaced the factory rubber hoses to firm up pedal response.

Why It Works

Both the TT8657 and TT8901 are forged, fixed calipers from TTSPORT's GT-grade lineup, roughly 30% stiffer than a comparable cast caliper. Less caliper flex under hard pedal pressure means more of your foot's effort actually clamps the rotor instead of getting absorbed by the caliper body — that's what turns a mushy pedal into a firm one.

The larger 355mm front and 345mm rear rotors also carry more mass than the stock discs, giving the system more heat capacity to resist fade on repeated stops. Because the kit was engineered as a matched front-and-rear set, braking bias stays balanced instead of one axle doing more work than it's built for.
