Honda Civic (10th Gen) Big Brake Kit Upgrade / TTSPORT Classic 5440
A lot of drivers get into brake upgrades for the first time by picking an imported brand without fully understanding what they're paying for — and that price premium usually comes from freight and import duties, not necessarily better hardware. When a first-round brake mod doesn't deliver the pedal feel or stopping power the owner expected, the next step is a second upgrade. That's exactly what happened with this 10th-generation Honda Civic, running 18-inch wheels, which moved to a TTSPORT 5440 setup after its previous brake parts fell short.
The build swapped in a complete TT front brake package: the TT5440 forged four-piston caliper, a TT Dacromet-coated rotor, and TT stainless steel brake lines. All three pieces went on together, replacing the car's previous aftermarket brake parts as a full front-end refresh rather than a partial swap.

Why It Works
The 5440's two-piece forged aluminum body is stiffer and lighter than a cast caliper of similar size, which matters at the pedal: less caliper flex under clamping load means less of your pedal travel gets absorbed by the hardware instead of the pads. Four pistons — two 38mm, two 41mm — spread clamping force across a larger pad area than a smaller single- or twin-piston setup, for more even pad wear and a firmer bite.
The Dacromet coating on the rotor is a corrosion-resistant finish, which is also why the disc keeps its clean, uniform look longer than an untreated rotor. TTSPORT's spec calls for a 17-inch or larger wheel with the 5440, and this build ran it comfortably behind the Civic's 18-inch wheels.
- Forged two-piece caliper body for less flex under braking
- Four-piston layout spreads clamping force for a firmer pedal
- Stainless lines resist swelling for a more consistent pedal feel
- Fits behind the Civic's factory 18-inch wheels
