A vehicle with that kind of pace needs a brake system that can shed heat as fast as the drivetrain builds speed, so this Touareg went in for a full front-and-rear carbon-ceramic upgrade.

The car came in with its factory 21-inch wheels intact. Rather than a simple pad-and-rotor refresh, the owner opted for a forged fixed-caliper setup paired with lightweight carbon-ceramic discs — a kit built to handle repeated hard stops without the fade that eventually catches up to cast-iron rotors.

Why It Works

A forged fixed caliper doesn't flex under load the way a sliding caliper can, so pedal input translates directly into clamping force instead of getting absorbed by caliper distortion — that's the difference between a firm pedal and a mushy one under repeated hard braking.

• Forged ten-piston front / four-piston rear calipers spread clamping force evenly across the pad for consistent bite.
• Carbon-ceramic rotors resist the thermal fade that eventually degrades cast-iron discs under sustained hard use, since their material tolerates far higher operating temperatures before losing friction.
• Dropping roughly 8-12 kg of unsprung mass per corner reduces the work the suspension has to do to keep the wheel tracking the road, which sharpens turn-in and ride quality.

The drilled surface pattern on the rotor face isn't just for looks — those holes help vent heat and gas from the pad-rotor interface, which keeps friction levels more consistent in both dry and wet conditions and helps prevent rotor warping over time.
