Honda Civic Big Brake Kit Upgrade / TTSPORT Classic 9040

Once one Civic owner runs a brake setup and reports back with good results, the rest of the platform tends to follow — and that's exactly what's happening with this four-wheel TTSPORT build. Civic owners talk to each other, and a setup that's already been proven by earlier adopters is an easy sell.

This Civic runs 18-inch wheels and got the full front-and-rear treatment: a TTSPORT TT9040 six-piston caliper up front matched to a 355x32mm Dacromet-coated curved rotor, plus a 325x10mm oversized curved rotor out back. Stainless steel brake lines went on at both axles.

We've covered plenty of Civic brake builds before, but since TTSPORT rolled out an oversized rear rotor kit for the platform, most of these cases have shifted from front-only upgrades to a full four-wheel job — one pass, no corner left behind.

Why It Works

• A 355mm front rotor carries more mass and surface area than the stock disc, so it absorbs and sheds more heat before fade sets in.
• The TT9040 six-piston caliper clamps down on more pad area than a stock single- or twin-piston unit, which firms up pedal response and shortens the pedal's travel band.
• Running a 325mm rear rotor alongside the 355mm front is a more balanced — and more cost-effective — pairing than the common front-six/rear-four or front-six/rear-two setups, since it keeps front-to-rear bias closer to proportional rather than overbuilding the front and leaving the rear undersized.
• This setup is sized to sit behind the Civic's 18-inch wheels with no spacers needed.
