Honda Civic (10th Gen) Big Brake Kit Upgrade / TTSPORT Classic 9040

The 10th-generation Civic sells well enough that every recall headline gets amplified right along with it. Whatever the actual odds of a brake problem are, plenty of owners aren't waiting around to find out — they're upgrading the front brakes to something with more margin. This case swaps the stock front caliper and rotor for a TTSPORT TT9040 forged six-piston caliper and a 355mm x 32mm curved-vane rotor.

With the wheel off, the six-piston caliper and larger rotor fill the wheel opening noticeably more than the factory brakes did — the kind of visual confirmation that usually comes with a real jump in pad area and rotor mass.

Before the new hardware goes on, the front hub gets stripped down to bare metal. This is also the point where the tech double-checks knuckle clearance for the larger rotor and caliper before committing to final assembly.

Why It Works
