Cadillac XT6 Big Brake Kit Upgrade / TTSPORT Classic 8703 & 8903

by LinLynn 16 Jul 2026

The Cadillac XT6's stock brakes work fine for daily driving, but a 2.0T SUV with this much curb weight and 210 km/h top speed can overwhelm factory calipers and rotors once you start pushing it — long descents, spirited backroad runs, or just repeated hard stops in traffic. This build swaps in a TTSPORT front six-piston / rear four-piston big brake kit, with a dedicated electronic parking brake caliper on the back so the factory EPB function stays intact.

The car runs 20-inch wheels, and the front axle gets a TT8703 cast six-piston caliper matched to a 405x34mm high-carbon, heat-treated curved-vane rotor. The larger rotor diameter and thicker cross-section add real thermal mass, which matters more on a heavier SUV platform than on a lighter sedan.

Out back, the kit pairs a TT8903 cast four-piston caliper with a 380x28mm high-carbon curved-vane rotor, a TT electronic parking brake caliper, and stainless steel brake lines. That combination lets the rear axle handle a bigger rotor and stronger caliper without giving up the factory electronic parking brake.

Why It Works

  • A larger, thicker front rotor (405x34mm) stores and dissipates more heat than the factory disc, which is exactly what an SUV needs under repeated hard braking — more mass means slower temperature rise and less fade over a long stop or a downhill run.
  • The six-piston front caliper clamps a wider pad area than the stock unit, which spreads clamping force more evenly and improves pedal modulation — you get a firmer, more predictable pedal instead of a soft, long-travel one.
  • Running a four-piston rear caliper alongside a separate EPB caliper lets TTSPORT upgrade rear clamping force without re-engineering or cutting the factory parking brake mechanism, so the OEM electronic parking brake keeps working as designed.
  • Both rotors and calipers were sized to clear the factory 20-inch wheels on this build, keeping the geometry close to stock even with the larger hardware.

FAQ

What wheel size is this Cadillac XT6 build running?
The kit was installed on a Cadillac XT6 fitted with 20-inch wheels.
Does the rear kit still work with the factory electronic parking brake?
Yes. The rear axle uses a TTSPORT four-piston caliper paired with a dedicated TT EPB electronic parking brake caliper, so the factory electronic parking brake function is retained.
Does installing the front six-piston caliper require cutting factory parts?
Yes. Because the TT8703 front caliper is significantly larger than the stock unit, the factory brake dust shield has to be trimmed for clearance.
