The Smart's factory brakes have a reputation problem: a hard, unresponsive pedal that doesn't inspire much confidence, especially given how many owners never even touch their brakes because they don't want to give up the stock wheels. TTSPORT built a vehicle-specific forged four-piston kit for the Smart that bolts straight to the factory caliper position — no spacers, no adapter brackets — and still clears the stock 15-inch wheel.

Owners kept asking for the same thing: more bite, without swapping wheels or adding spacers to make room for bigger hardware. TTSPORT's answer was a caliper and rotor package sized to work inside the Smart's original 15-inch wheel — a genuine bolt-on upgrade rather than a wheel-and-brake package deal.

Here's the factory setup being replaced: a small single-piston caliper and thin rotor that together give the Smart its stiff, low-feedback pedal. It's an economical brake system built for a light city car, but it leaves little margin for confident stops in traffic or spirited driving.

Why It Works

• Forging the caliper body reduces flex under pressure and cuts unsprung weight compared with the factory single-piston unit, which translates to a firmer, more predictable pedal.
• The 258x22mm one-piece rotor adds mass and surface area over the stock disc, giving the system more heat capacity and helping resist the shudder that comes with a thin, worn factory rotor.
• Because the caliper is sized to the Smart's original mounting geometry, it installs in the stock position without spacers or a bracket kit — and still clears the factory 15-inch wheel.
