Why It Works

A monobloc caliper is machined from a single billet instead of bolted together from two halves, so under hard braking there's less flex in the caliper body itself. That rigidity means more of your pedal input goes into clamping force on the rotor instead of getting absorbed by the caliper twisting — which is the fundamental reason the pedal firms up and feels more direct after this kind of swap.
