BMW 530 Big Brake Kit Upgrade / TTSPORT Classic 8703

by LinLynn 16 Jul 2026

This BMW 530's owner wasn't satisfied with how the factory calipers looked or performed, so the car went in for a TTSPORT front six-piston / rear four-piston big brake kit. The goal: fill out the 20-inch wheels and give the pedal more bite for both daily driving and the occasional spirited run.

Stock BMW calipers on a 5 Series are competent but small relative to the wheel opening, and drivers who push the car harder often find the pedal firms up less than they'd like under repeated stops. The fix here wasn't a full track setup — just a proven street-oriented dual-caliper kit sized to the car's 20-inch wheels.

TTSPORT TT8703 six-piston front caliper and 405mm rotor mounted on BMW 530

The front-six/rear-four dual-caliper pairing is one of TTSPORT's more established combinations, used across a wide range of street builds. TT8703 up front runs with the 405x34mm rotor, TT6411 out back runs with the 380x28mm rotor, and the EPB caliper keeps the parking brake function intact — a fuller look in the wheel well at a reasonable price point.

Why It Works

  • The TT8703 front caliper is built as a fixed six-piston unit with vented pistons for heat dissipation, which helps keep pedal feel consistent through repeated, back-to-back stops instead of going soft.
  • Stepping up to a 405x34mm front rotor and 380x28mm rear rotor adds thermal mass and swept area over the stock discs, giving the system more capacity to absorb and shed heat before fade sets in.
  • The TTSPORT EPB caliper is designed to bolt on without machining or altering the factory parking-brake bracket, so the rear upgrade doesn't compromise the OEM parking brake mount.
  • All of the above clears the car's factory 20-inch wheels as installed, with no spacers needed on this build.

What does the TTSPORT big brake kit on this BMW 530 include?
The front axle uses a TT8703 six-piston caliper with a 405x34mm high-carbon, heat-treated curved-vane rotor. The rear axle uses a TT6411 four-piston caliper with a 380x28mm rotor, plus a TTSPORT EPB electronic parking brake caliper and TT stainless brake lines.
Does the EPB caliper require modifying the factory parking brake mount?
No. The TTSPORT universal EPB caliper installs without machining the OEM caliper's iron bracket and without altering any factory components on the car.
What wheel size does this kit fit behind?
On this build the kit fits behind the car's factory 20-inch wheels, as installed and confirmed on the vehicle in this case.
