BMW 5 Series (G30) Big Brake Kit Upgrade / TTSPORT Evolution ES6

by LinLynn 16 Jul 2026

A BMW 5 Series (G30) owner wasn't happy with the factory brake pedal — soft, vague, and short on the kind of linear response you want when you're actually leaning on the brakes. Working with TTSPORT's dealer in Malaysia, the fix was a front-to-rear brake overhaul built around the TTSPORT Evolution Series ES6 six-piston caliper.

BMW 5 Series G30 with TTSPORT Evolution ES6 six-piston caliper behind the 19-inch factory wheel

The car keeps its stock 19-inch wheels. Up front, the ES6 six-piston caliper clamps a 380mm high-carbon heat-treated rotor; out back, a 370mm high-carbon heat-treated rotor takes over from the factory disc. The rest of the kit is what you'd expect from a proper big brake swap: a vehicle-specific caliper bracket, TTSPORT street-compound pads, stainless steel lines, brake fluid, and the mounting hardware to put it all together.

Why It Works

TTSPORT ES6 two-piece forged six-piston caliper installed on BMW G30 5 Series front axle

The ES6's two-piece forged body adds a through-bolt reinforcement bar that ties the caliper halves together, cutting flex under hard braking. A stiffer caliper means less pedal travel gets absorbed by the hardware itself, which is where a lot of that "mushy" stock feel comes from in the first place. Inside, the two-piece heat-insulated pistons with dust boots and optimized seals distribute clamping force more evenly across the pad, so braking stays consistent whether you're on a long downhill or working the brakes hard on track.

On the rear axle, the larger 370mm high-carbon heat-treated rotor does two jobs at once:

  • More rotor diameter means more leverage for the pads to work against, which translates to stronger, more stable braking and better grip through corners as the car settles onto the rotor.
  • A bigger disc also means more surface area to shed heat, which keeps temperatures down and helps stave off the fade that shows up after repeated hard stops.

Tip from TTSPORT: the ES6 caliper is designed to run either a 355mm or 380mm high-carbon heat-treated rotor, so the front rotor size can be matched to the wheel diameter on a given car.

Frequently Asked Questions

What TTSPORT kit was installed on this BMW G30 5 Series?
The dealer installed the TTSPORT Evolution Series ES6 kit up front — a two-piece forged six-piston caliper paired with a 380mm high-carbon heat-treated rotor — plus a 370mm high-carbon heat-treated rotor at the rear, a vehicle-specific caliper bracket, TTSPORT high-performance street pads, and stainless steel brake lines.
What wheel size does this kit fit behind?
This build runs the car's factory 19-inch wheels, with no mention of spacers in the source case.
Can the ES6 caliper run a smaller front rotor?
Yes — TTSPORT notes the ES6 caliper accepts either a 355mm or 380mm high-carbon heat-treated rotor depending on the vehicle's wheel size.
