Audi A4 Big Brake Kit Upgrade / TTSPORT Slim SL6

by LinLynn 16 Jul 2026

Few German sedans have stuck around as long as the Audi A4. From the B5 in 1994 through the B6, B7, B8, and now B9, the A4 has quietly evolved from a badge-conscious commuter into a genuinely capable, lightweight platform worth driving hard — which is exactly why so many owners eventually look at their brakes.

The catch for a lot of A4 owners: the car still rides on factory 17-inch wheels, and most aftermarket multi-piston calipers are simply too big to clear them. Chase more clamping area and heat capacity, and you usually end up needing a flange spacer — or being told to buy 18-inch wheels first.

For a car that spends most of its life commuting, adding spacers just to make a caliper clear the wheel isn't a great trade-off — it changes offset, adds a failure point, and turns a brake upgrade into a wheel project. This A4 owner went a different route: a caliper designed to fit the stock wheel from the start.

Why It Works

Getting a six-piston caliper to clear a 17-inch wheel isn't about shrinking the caliper randomly — it's about rethinking the layout so clamping area stays high while the overall package stays compact enough for the wheel's spoke window. TTSPORT built the SL6 around that constraint, then tested it directly against the Audi A4's factory 17-inch wheel to confirm it clears with no flange or spacer.

  • Six-piston, symmetric clamping delivers linear, predictable pedal response instead of a vague, progressively softening feel.
  • Installs directly on the stock 17-inch wheel — no spacers, no flange adapters, and the factory track width and steering geometry stay untouched.
  • The 330mm rotor and performance pad combination is tuned to feel normal in daily driving while adding real margin on highway braking or a long mountain descent.

For a daily-driver A4, that's the point: more braking confidence without turning the car into a wheel-and-suspension project.

Does the TTSPORT SL6 kit fit under the Audi A4's stock 17-inch wheels without spacers?
Yes. The TTSPORT SL6 six-piston caliper was tested specifically against the Audi A4's OEM 17-inch wheel and installs directly, with no spacers or flange adapters required.
What's included in the TTSPORT SL6 kit for this Audi A4?
The front kit includes TTSPORT SL6 six-piston calipers, TTSPORT 330mm drilled rotors, a vehicle-specific caliper bracket, TTSPORT performance brake pads, TTSPORT stainless steel brake lines, plus brake fluid and mounting hardware.
Does the upgrade change the A4's track width or steering geometry?
No. The SL6 kit retains the Audi A4's original track width and steering geometry, so the upgrade adds braking performance without altering the car's stock handling.
