This isn’t a cosmetic “big red caliper.” It’s a brake system built for a fully loaded Tank 300 that actually leaves the pavement. Once you add 33–35" tires, steel bumpers, winch, roof tent and a bed full of gear, the stock brakes are working way outside the conditions they were designed for.
The OR6 package is engineered around that reality: more weight, more heat and more abuse on rough terrain. A 6-piston forged caliper with 79 cm² (12.25 in²) of piston area and a 32 mm thick high-carbon rotor give you real clamp force and thermal capacity, without turning the pedal into an on/off switch.
If your Tank 300 is more “remote campsite and rock ledges” than “mall parking lot,” the OR6 is the missing piece that lets the truck carry serious load and still stop with confidence when things get steep, loose or unexpected.
Below are the hard numbers behind the OR6 package for the Tank 300. The 79 cm² piston area, forged caliper body and 32 mm thick high-carbon rotor are all chosen to handle added weight, bigger tires and long downhill runs without brake fade.
