What are "castellated pistons" and why do I want them?
Castellated (or "ventilated") pistons have special grooves that dramatically reduce the contact area with the back of the brake pad. This creates a thermal barrier, significantly cutting down on heat transfer to your brake fluid. It's a race-proven technology that provides the ultimate defense against brake fade during high-performance driving.
This caliper has no dust boots. Can I still use it on the street?
The 8611S is a track-focused caliper. Removing the rubber dust boots allows us to use ultra-high-temperature seals that won't fail under extreme track conditions. While this maximizes performance, it means the pistons are more exposed to road grime. For street-driven cars, this requires more frequent inspection and cleaning to ensure long-term reliability.

2. Initial Break‑In Procedure

  1. In a safe area, brake from 60 km/h to 10 km/h with moderate pressure—repeat 10 times.
  2. Drive 500–1,000 km with light to moderate usage before full braking performance. Avoid aggressive stops.
  3. Our high‑carbon steel discs have grooved, color‑treated surfaces to help quick bedding and resist corrosion.

3. Product Warranty

  • Calipers: 1‑year warranty on defects. Lifetime maintenance available (parts charged).
  • Discs & Hoses: 90‑day warranty for defects. Expected lifespan: 40,000–60,000 km.
  • Brake Pads: 90‑day coverage. Typical lifespan: 20,000–40,000 km.

4. Usage & Maintenance

  1. Do not wash immediately after hard braking to prevent rotor warpage.
  2. Allow extra stopping distance when driving in wet conditions.
