D1 Grand Prix China Dongguan Finale: 13 Cars Run TTSPORT Brakes
Fifty-four cars took the grid for the 2025 D1 Grand Prix China season finale in Dongguan — a new record for the series — and 13 of them ran TTSPORT big brake systems. That's roughly one in every four cars on the biggest D1 grid in the event's history.
A Record Field in Dongguan
D1 Grand Prix started in Japan and grew into one of the world's most-watched drift series, built around the idea that speed and angle can be controlled right up to the limit. It's shaped a generation of builders and drivers chasing that same balance between commitment and control.
The Dongguan finale drew top pro and semi-pro crews from across the country, packing the paddock with 2JZ and RB26 swaps and everything in between. Why Braking Decides a Drift
A drift run lives and dies on the entry. The driver has to shed speed fast, load the front tires, and initiate the slide at a precise point — then modulate the brake through the rest of the run without the pedal going soft. That's a heat problem as much as a driving problem. Repeated hard stops build heat faster than it can bleed off, and once the fluid and pads get too hot, the pedal goes long and the driver loses the fine control a judged run needs.
