CTCC Ningbo Round: Chery Works Team Sweeps Podium on TTSPORT Brakes
At the Ningbo round of the CTCC (China Touring Car Championship), the Taihe Bawanglong Chery Arrizo team ran two Chery Arrizo 8 race cars to a clean sweep: the team championship plus first and second in the TCS class. Drivers Sun Zheng and Huang Ying both raced on TTSPORT TR65 six-piston brake calipers.
A Clean Sweep at Ningbo International Circuit
Taihe Bawanglong, Chery's dedicated works program, brought two Arrizo 8 sedans to Ningbo. Backed by Chery's in-house R&D and racing know-how, the team went into the weekend looking to build on the car's proven pace, and it delivered: a team championship, plus the top two spots in the TCS class.
Ningbo isn't an easy track to be consistent on. It mixes hard, repeated braking zones with high-speed corner entries and long stretches of close-quarters racing. Sun Zheng and Huang Ying held a steady rhythm through all of it, using clean driving and smart race craft to control the pace from the front.
By the checkered flag, both Arrizo 8s crossed the line 1-2 in the TCS class, a result that put both drivers on the podium and locked up the team championship for Taihe Bawanglong at the same time.
Kunpeng 2.0T Power Under the Hood
Both cars run Chery's factory Kunpeng 2.0T turbo engine, and it kept delivering strong, consistent power through the heat and load of a full race distance at Ningbo. That kind of reliable output is the baseline for competitive lap times. But horsepower alone doesn't win a touring car race. What decides how late a driver can brake, how confidently they can attack a corner, and how the whole package holds up over a race distance usually comes down to the brakes.
Why Braking Decided the Result
Both championship-winning Arrizo 8s ran the same setup: the TTSPORT TR65 race-spec six-piston caliper. TTSPORT is the racing brake brand under Guangzhou Minzhong Auto Technology, with more than two decades focused on high-performance braking. The brand has a track record across CTCC, CEC, the China Drift Grand Prix (CDGP), Japan's FDJ drift championship, and other professional series.

The TR65 is built for sustained high-load racing, with a rigid caliper body that resists flex under repeated hard stops. That stiffness matters: when temperatures climb over a full race run, a caliper that flexes lets the pads travel further before they bite, which shows up as a soft, inconsistent pedal. At Ningbo's multiple heavy braking zones, the TR65 held its pedal feel and stopping power lap after lap, keeping fade in check and giving both drivers a brake pedal they could trust on every approach.
For a professional touring car, braking isn't just about slowing down. It sets corner entry speed, corner exit rhythm, and ultimately lap time. A brake system that lets a driver brake later and hold the car steadier through the zone is what makes those gains possible race after race, and that's the job the TR65 did for both Arrizo 8s at Ningbo.
Podium Photos and What's Next
No championship comes down to one factor. This result was built on Chery's engineering, careful setup work from the team's technicians, a pit crew that ran a tight, coordinated weekend, and two drivers who pushed hard from green flag to checkered flag.
Congratulations to Taihe Bawanglong Chery Arrizo team on the team championship and the TCS class 1-2 finish at CTCC Ningbo. From power delivery to chassis setup to braking, this weekend showed what a well-prepared Chinese works program can do. TTSPORT will keep backing race cars with race-proven braking as the season continues.
