CTCC Shanghai Jiading Round: Chery Arrizo 8 Takes TCS Podium on TTSPORT Brakes

by LinLynn 16 Jul 2026

Drivers Sun Zheng and Wang Wenbin brought a Chery Arrizo 8 2.0T through a rough Round 9/10 weekend at Shanghai International Circuit to take third in the CTCC TCS class, with a TTSPORT TR65 one-piece forged six-piston big brake kit backing them up the whole way.

A Hard-Fought Podium at Jiading

CTCC's Round 9/10 weekend at Shanghai International Circuit brought the season back to one of China's toughest circuits. For TTSPORT, it wasn't just another race — it was a stress test of speed, technical prep, and teamwork under pressure. The result: a hard-earned TCS class podium.

This one didn't come easy. The car ran into small issues mid-race that knocked the team's rhythm off and put the run in jeopardy for a stretch. The driver stayed calm, the crew made the calls it needed to make, and the car crossed the line with the result intact.

Holding position under pressure, lap after lap, with a car that isn't behaving perfectly is where a lot of results get lost. This time it didn't.

Two Drivers, One Fight

Sun Zheng and Wang Wenbin, the team's regular pairing, took the wheel again at Jiading. Both have logged plenty of laps on this circuit, and it showed — when the race turned messy, they leaned on experience and grit to keep the car on track and bring home the third-place trophy.

Built in 30 Days: A New Car for Jiading

The team had just over 30 days to rebuild the Chery Arrizo 8 2.0T before this round. The engine got a full power upgrade, the chassis and suspension were retuned and reinforced for high-speed corner stability, and a new aero package was fitted for better downforce and straight-line balance. A fresh livery rounded out the build.

Why the Brakes Mattered

Everything else about the car changed for this round — engine, chassis, aero, livery — but the brakes stayed the same: the TTSPORT TR65 one-piece forged six-piston caliper. When a car is losing rhythm mid-race and the driver needs to trail-brake deep into a corner without second-guessing the pedal, a rigid one-piece caliper body matters. Less flex under load means a firmer, more consistent pedal feel lap after lap, and that consistency is what let the drivers keep pushing even when the run got messy.

TTSPORT's approach has always been the same: performance is the goal, safety is the floor, and race-proven technology should end up on street cars. A caliper that survives a rebuilt car's shakedown weekend and a scrappy race under real pressure is exactly the kind of proof that philosophy needs.

Jiading is done, but the season isn't. The team heads to Zhuzhou for the CTCC season finale carrying the experience from this weekend's fight and the same goal: push for the highest result the car and the drivers can deliver.
