Big Brake Kit Upgrade for 19-Inch+ OEM Wheels / TTSPORT Slim SL8

by LinLynn 16 Jul 2026

Big factory wheels look great, but they don't always come with brakes to match. A lot of 19-inch-and-up OEM setups still hide a small, single-piston stock caliper behind the spokes — plenty of clamping force for daily driving, but not much margin once you start pushing the car harder or hauling more weight. TTSPORT built the SL8 specifically to fix that without touching the wheels: an 8-piston forged caliper kit engineered from the start to clear 19-inch and larger factory wheels with no spacers.

The SL8 sits in TTSPORT's Slim Series lineup, which is built around one constraint: fit inside factory wheels. Instead of chasing the biggest rotor possible, the SL8 is sized and shaped to work with the wheel offsets and spoke geometry most owners are already running, so the swap doesn't turn into a wheel-shopping project.

Vehicle & Kit Specs

This kit is a universal Slim Series application, sold as a bolt-on package for vehicles running 19-inch or larger OEM wheels. Here's the hardware breakdown:

Item Specification
Vehicle Universal — vehicles fitted with 19-inch or larger OEM wheels, minimum 90mm spoke clearance
Front caliper TTSPORT SL8, 8-piston, two-piece forged aluminum, radial mount
Front rotor Compatible with Ø380-405mm x 34mm rotors (vehicle-specific)
Bracket Vehicle-specific caliper bracket
Pads / lines Brake pads and fittings sized to the SL8 caliper; caliper-side and chassis-side line fittings vary by application
Hardware Mounting hardware for radial-mount installation

Why It Works

TTSPORT SL8 two-piece forged aluminum caliper body with high-temperature gloss coating

Two things make the SL8 do its job well: caliper rigidity and pad area. A stock single- or dual-piston caliper flexes under hard braking, which is part of why the pedal can feel soft or long when you're pushing the car. The SL8's two-piece forged aluminum body is stiffer than a cast caliper, so more of your pedal pressure turns into actual clamping force at the rotor instead of getting absorbed by caliper flex.

  • Eight pistons (four 28mm, four 32mm) spread clamping force across 56.8 cm² of total piston area per caliper, for a firmer, more linear pedal.
  • One-piece, heat-insulated pistons help slow heat transfer from the pads into the brake fluid, which matters more as rotor size and use case go up.
  • Radial-mount design paired with a vehicle-specific bracket keeps the caliper geometry correct behind the factory wheel — no spacers needed on 19-inch and larger fitments with at least 90mm of spoke clearance.

What wheel size does the TTSPORT SL8 require?
TTSPORT recommends the SL8 for 19-inch or larger wheels, with a minimum spoke clearance of 90mm behind the wheel face.
How many pistons does the SL8 caliper use, and what are they made of?
The SL8 uses an 8-piston layout with one-piece, heat-insulated pistons and dust boots — four 28mm pistons and four 32mm pistons per caliper.
What rotor size is the SL8 designed to run?
TTSPORT's recommended rotor size for the SL8 caliper is 380-405mm in diameter by 34mm thick.
How is the SL8 caliper built and how much does it weigh?
The SL8 is a two-piece forged aluminum caliper with a high-temperature gloss coating, weighing 5.20kg per caliper without pads, and mounts via a radial-mount design with vehicle-specific brackets.
