Toyota Crown Big Brake Kit Upgrade / TTSPORT Classic 8703

by LinLynn 16 Jul 2026

The facelifted Toyota Crown ditched the old-man styling for something sharper and more youthful, built specifically for the Chinese market. But the drivetrain carried over unchanged — 193 hp at 6,200 rpm, 236 N·m at 4,400 rpm, paired with a 6-speed automated manual. Solid numbers, nothing flashy, and nothing wrong with them either. The brakes, though, were another story. This 2015 Crown owner wanted a pedal and a look to match the new face, so the car went in for a front brake upgrade behind its stock 19-inch wheels.

2015 Toyota Crown fitted with TTSPORT TT8703 six-piston big brake kit and gold caliper bracket

The finished setup pairs a gold caliper bracket with a silver TT8703 caliper — a color mix most owners wouldn't try on purpose. It works here. The GT6 piston layout gives the caliper a mechanical, purposeful look, and TT8703 has become a go-to brake upgrade for front-drive and all-wheel-drive platforms for exactly that combination: strong looks backed by real hardware.

Vehicle & Kit Specs

Why It Works

TTSPORT TT8703 six-piston forged caliper with GT6 piston layout on Toyota Crown front axle

A forged monobloc caliper body doesn't flex under pressure the way a stamped stock caliper can, so more of the pedal input actually clamps the rotor instead of getting absorbed by caliper deflection. That's the difference between a mushy pedal and a firm one.

  • Six-piston, GT6-layout caliper design for a firmer, more consistent pedal feel than the factory setup
  • 380x32mm C-hook rotor design carries a higher friction coefficient than the stock disc, per the source, which helps braking performance directly
  • Kit fits behind the Crown's factory 19-inch wheels with no wheel or spacer change needed

TTSPORT's C-hook rotor — sometimes called a crescent rotor — isn't just a styling choice over the factory disc. The scalloped edge increases surface friction against the pad, which the source notes gives a real assist to stopping performance on top of the visual upgrade.

Installation Gallery

Does the TT8703 kit clear the Crown's stock 19-inch wheels?
Yes. This install was done on a 2015 Toyota Crown running its factory 19-inch wheels, and the TT8703 caliper with the 380x32mm rotor fit without any wheel change.
What does the TTSPORT kit used on this Crown include?
The build used a TT8703 six-piston forged monobloc caliper, a TT 380x32mm C-hook (crescent-slot) rotor, and TTSPORT stainless steel brake lines.
Why does the TT8703 caliper suit front-drive and all-wheel-drive platforms like the Crown?
The TT8703 uses a GT6 piston layout in a forged monobloc body, giving it a rigid, mechanical-looking design that the source notes makes it a common brake upgrade choice for FF and AWD vehicles.
