Tesla Model X Big Brake Kit Upgrade / TTSPORT Classic 8703S
The Tesla Model X is a full-size, all-wheel-drive performance SUV — Tesla quotes a 0-60 time in the low-3-second range and over 300 miles of range on the top trims. That kind of weight and acceleration puts real demand on a braking system that was never designed with track days or repeated hard stops in mind. This Model X owner went with a front six-piston / rear four-piston TTSPORT big brake kit to match the car's straight-line performance with brake hardware that can actually keep up.
The finished setup runs a TTSPORT Classic 8703S monobloc cast six-piston caliper up front and a TT8903 monobloc cast four-piston caliper at the rear, each paired with a large-diameter drilled rotor. Everything was fitted behind the car's factory 20-inch wheels — no spacers, no wheel swap.

The 8703S is a monobloc casting — the caliper body is machined from one piece rather than bolted together — which cuts down the flex you get under hard braking with a multi-piece caliper. Less flex means more of your pedal input goes directly into clamping force instead of getting absorbed by the caliper twisting, which is what a firmer, more predictable pedal feel comes from.
Why It Works
- Monobloc cast six-piston front caliper resists flex for a firmer, more consistent pedal under hard use.
- 405x34mm front and 365x29mm rear rotors add mass and surface area, giving the system more heat capacity and reducing fade on repeated stops.
- Drilled rotor faces help vent heat and gas at the pad-rotor interface, keeping the friction surface working consistently.
- Sized to clear the factory 20-inch wheels, so the whole kit went on without spacers or a wheel change.
- A dedicated TT electronic parking brake caliper at the rear keeps the parking brake fully functional alongside the new four-piston service caliper.
A bigger rotor also means a longer moment arm for the caliper to work against — more braking torque for the same clamping force, which is a big part of why the shorter stopping distances and more precise pedal control show up in everyday driving, not just on paper.
