Mazda Axela Big Brake Kit Upgrade / TTSPORT Classic 5430
This Mazda Axela came in with a common complaint: the factory front brakes felt soft and long-travel under hard, repeated stops, with the pedal sinking further the harder the driver pushed. Rather than chase pad compounds or fluid swaps, the fix was a front-axle upgrade to the TTSPORT 5430 — a Classic Series big brake kit built around a forged two-piece aluminum 4-piston caliper.

Why It Works
A soft, sinking pedal usually traces back to flex somewhere in the system — most often the caliper body itself. Small factory sliding calipers can flex under load, and that flex eats into pedal firmness and consistency, especially when the brakes are worked hard. The 5430's forged two-piece aluminum body is stiffer than that setup, so more of the driver's pedal input goes into clamping force instead of deforming the caliper.
- 4-piston layout with 49.1 cm² of combined piston area spreads clamping force more evenly across the pad for better modulation.
- A larger-diameter rotor (up to 355 mm vs. the smaller factory disc) adds swept area and thermal mass, helping resist fade during repeated hard stops.
- The vehicle-specific radial-mount bracket is built to package behind wheels of 17 inches or larger without spacers.
Fitment Notes
Because the 5430 is a radial-mount caliper on a purpose-built bracket, wheel fit comes down to spoke clearance rather than guesswork. TTSPORT specifies a minimum spoke clearance of 95 mm and recommends 17-inch or larger wheels for this kit — worth checking against a given wheel's back-side clearance before ordering, since spoke design varies even within the same wheel diameter.
