Honda Fit/Jazz (GK5) Big Brake Kit Upgrade / TTSPORT Direct-Mount Series

by LinLynn 16 Jul 2026

Six years after launch, the GK5 Honda Fit still commands strong resale value and heavy turnover in the used market — cheap to buy, fun to drive, and easy to modify. Under the factory single-piston brakes, though, this "pocket sports car" leaves stopping power on the table. This build swaps in a TTSPORT direct-mount kit front and back, without touching the car's 15-inch OEM wheels.

The GK5's light, stiff chassis and punchy engine already make it a fun car to push, and its huge aftermarket parts catalog means owners can go as far as they want — from stance builds to track days. Brakes are usually one of the first real upgrades, since the stock single-piston front caliper and rear drums were never built with hard driving in mind.

Vehicle & Kit Specs

This GK5 keeps its stock 15-inch wheels, so the kit had to fit within tight clearance — no spacers, no wheel swap.

Item Specification
Vehicle Honda Fit GK5, 15-inch OEM wheels
Front caliper TTSPORT Wood four-piston direct-mount caliper, replacing the OEM single-piston unit
Front rotor 260mm x 20mm high-carbon, heat-treated one-piece rotor with drilled-and-slotted pattern
Rear caliper Single-piston caliper, drum-to-disc conversion
Rear rotor 260mm x 9mm high-carbon, heat-treated curved-vane rotor
Lines / hardware TTSPORT stainless steel brake lines and mounting hardware

Why It Works

A four-piston caliper clamps pad against rotor from more points and with a stiffer body than the factory single-piston sliding design, so pedal input translates into clamping force more directly instead of getting soaked up by caliper flex. The drilled-and-slotted, one-piece front rotor sheds heat faster than the stock disc, which helps resist fade when the brakes get worked hard.

  • Four-piston front caliper improves pad contact and pedal response over the stock single-piston unit
  • 260x20mm slotted front rotor and 260x9mm curved rear rotor add heat capacity for better fade resistance
  • Direct-mount fitment for the front and a drum-to-disc rear conversion, both packaged to clear the stock 15-inch wheel

On the rear axle, swapping the drum brakes for a disc setup with a dedicated single-piston caliper is easier to maintain, keeps the rotor face cleaner than a drum, and lets the rear axle contribute more evenly to overall braking — which is what actually shortens stopping distance rather than just improving front bite alone.

Does this TTSPORT brake kit fit the stock 15-inch wheels on a GK5?
Yes. The kit on this GK5 was fitted as a direct-mount setup behind the car's stock 15-inch wheels, with no spacers or wheel changes needed.
What's included in the front and rear kits?
The front kit replaces the OEM single-piston caliper with a TTSPORT four-piston direct-mount caliper and a 260x20mm high-carbon, heat-treated drilled-and-slotted one-piece rotor. The rear kit converts the factory drum brakes to disc, using a single-piston caliper, a 260x9mm high-carbon heat-treated curved-vane rotor, and TTSPORT stainless steel brake lines.
Why upgrade both the front and rear brakes instead of just the front?
Pairing the front four-piston kit with the rear drum-to-disc conversion balances braking front-to-rear, which shortens stopping distance and gives more consistent pedal feel across the whole car.
